Many years ago, JTV acquired some exceptionally fine amethysts, with deep, rich, juicy purple color. Mouthwateringly saturated and reminiscent of a fresh grape, plucked from the vine.
At that time, one of our in-house lapidaries was an award-winning gem cutter. He cut each of these amethysts. Wow. Individually hand-cut fabulous amethysts.
They have been sitting in our vault until now. Tony Thompson, the inspired designer of our Artisan of the South™ collection, found these exceptionally gorgeous gemstones. What did he do?
He designed a distinctive setting. Crafted in 14k white gold with rhodium over, this setting is ideal for a stone of this prestigious origin and exquisite color. The amethyst weighs 2.49cts and measures 10x8mm. It is nested in a rhodium over 14k white gold bezel with a flared, teacup-shaped base that follows the line of that purple dazzler all the way down to its culet. Wow.
But Tony didn’t stop there. He added a surprise ... a hidden heart. This piece is exclusive. We have only single-digit quantities of that amethyst available and that’s it.
