Did you ever imagine that you could own a ruby with a weight of over two carats? You can ... the secret is in the technology of the Mahaleo ruby.
For this ring, we began with a single beautiful ruby ... not perfect, but a delicious red stone with a truly impressive size and weight. We used modern technology and filling products to make the ruby look brighter, clearer, less included and to give it better color. We call it a Mahaleo ruby and we think it is exquisite.
We then surrounded that 8mm x 6mm gemstone with mined, white diamond accents arranged in a halo ... yes ... mined, white diamond accents around the red stunner ... wow.
The ring has split shoulders ... open ... set with four baguette white zircons (0.22ctw). We graced the band above and below with more mined, white diamond accents.
The impact of that 2.21ct Mahaleo ruby, surrounded by white and sparkling gemstones deserved – and even demanded – a setting of rhodium over 14k white gold.
When a ruby is that red and over two carats, it gets whatever it demands ... and the result is too fine for words.
