Product Information
Pakistani Kashmir peridot minimum 1.50ct mm varies oval. The gemstone
was mined in the Kohistan District, Pakistan.
Our annual journey to the Tucson international gemstone show sometimes yields spectacular finds that even Jewelry Television has never seen before. The 2014 show was no exception, as our gemstone team discovered some unique peridot in rough form. Hailing from the legendary Kashmir region of the Himalayan Mountains in eastern Pakistan, this area yields some of the finest peridot in the world. Only discovered in the early 1990's, this find has redefined the meaning of fine quality peridot! Found at altitudes nearing 16,000 feet, mining operations are seasonal, meaning production is sporadic and supply is always limited. Once our buying team secured the rough material, they gave careful instructions for it to be fashioned into expertly cut gems. Each gem boasts exceptional strong, minty color, looking much more like mint garnet with none of the olive green hues we usually associate with peridot. Historically, only a few stones out of many hundreds have this 'minty' color, making it extremely rare and desirable. The perfect addition to any gemstone or jewelry collection, we invite you to discover the richly exotic beauty of Kashmir peridot today!
