Product Information
OPL Pocket Size Diffraction Grading Spectroscope and A Students Guide To Spectroscopy Book Kit. The kit contains the OPL Pocket Size Diffraction Grading Spectroscope which has fixed slit and fixed focus, with a 600 lines per millimeter fine quality diffraction grating and is smaller than the OPL Teaching Spectroscope and the A Students Guide To Spectroscopy by Colin Winter, FGA, DGA, illustrated by Hilary Taylor, BA, FGA, DGA. The book has 88 full color pages and is a student friendly approach to spectroscopy, with detailed descriptions, photos, diagrams, practical examples, advice and just a touch of theory. The spectroscope is constructed of stainless steel and black acetol and comes packed in a blue lined transparent case. It measures 55mm long, 12.5mm wide, and weighs 31 grams.

Colin Winter, FGA, DGA and Hilary Taylor, BA, FGA, DGA are some of the foremost experts in gem spectroscopy. Colin and Hilary have taught gemology and given lectures in Europe, Asia, and the United States. A Students Guide To Spectroscopy is now regarded as an essential part of a gemology students’ library. The OPL spectroscope has been used throughout the world for more than 35 years and is recognized and respected by gemmologists and gemological teaching centers worldwide. It is an instrument for a small gemological "mini-lab" kit or is easily carried in a pocket or handbag.
