We like this pendant. We like the size of that oval, Ethiopian opal. It’s 0.85ct, and it’s a solitaire. It’s a stone that stands alone. The setting of 18k yellow gold over sterling silver enhances the warm shades emanating from that opal and the illusion created by the frame ... it almost looks like a gemmy halo, but it’s all golden warmth.
We also like the design that is worked over the bail of the piece. It’s a stylized version of the infinity symbol ... no ... wait ... maybe it’s a stylized version of the X and O motif ... hugs and kisses. What do you see when you look closely? Perhaps it’s a decorative, swirling, textural element. That works, too. We can all agree that what we see is a bold and attractive addition to the design.
We think you will also like the feel of the pendant ... it’s weighty enough to feel expensive ... but light enough to be comfortable at the neck.
This pendant doesn’t scream about what it is. It quietly says, “Look at me. I am lovely.”
