Product Information
Set of 3 Persian Demantoid garnet 0.77ctw one 4mm and two 3mm round. The gemstones were mined in Iran and cut in Thailand.

After its 19th century discovery in Russia's Ural Mountains, demantoid garnet quickly rose to fame, earning the nickname "gemstone of czars." The Russian gems have been prized for centuries for their vibrant color and tell-tale "horsetail" inclusions not seen in demantoid garnets from other locales. That is, until a 2001 discovery in modern-day Persia. These rare Persian demantoid gems boast stronger, more saturated emerald-green color than their Russian siblings, as well as the coveted inclusions gem collectors desire. Some of these gems have the famed horsetail inclusions, while others have unique fingerprint-like inclusions. These gems share a very similar chemical composition to their Russian counterparts. We at JTV are very excited to offer this newer gemstone discovery, however, this opportunity buy of rare gems is likely unrepeatable in the foreseeable future. For those who desire to own one of the most unique and collectible gems in the world, we encourage you to discover the distinctive pedigree of Persian demantoid today at Jewelry Television!
