This rare golden zoisite is cut in the classic square cushion shape and weighs in at an impressive 18.91 carats. The famed hard rock mines in the Merelani Hills near Mount Kilimanjaro, Tanzania, have produced the world's only and finest blue zoisite, or tanzanite, to date. On rare occasion, these same mines produce some zoisite crystals in extremely rare, fancy colors. This golden colored zoisite is one of the rarest of these fancy colors. Last year, for the first time, we were offered a small parcel of these rare yellow, golden zoisites. As for their rarity? Our tanzanite suppliers estimate these rare fancy colors represent less than 0.25% of the entire production at the mines, making this an especially collectible gemstone.
