Product Information
Masasi blue color change garnet 4.06ct 10.38X8.57X5.13mm oval. The stone is dark Blue Green in daylight and reddish Purple in incandescent light. The gemstone was mined in Tanzania and cut in India. The gemstone comes with an Stone Group Labs Gemstone Identification Report.

This strong color change garnet possesses the ideal yet very rare color change phenomenon that is so prized among gem connoisseurs. Going from greenish blue in daylight to violet red in incandescent light, this gem's remarkable color change is very similar to the color change observed in famed Hematita Brazilian alexandrite. Masasi Blue Garnet™ was only introduced to our customers in 2011 after its discovery in alluvial deposits in southern Tanzania. Its discovery delighted the gemological world because up until the 1990's, blue garnets simply did not exist! This fine piece has a strong color change that would cost substantially more if seen in a four carat alexandrite. Even though this color change garnet is far rarer, it is only about $2,000 per carat currently. Extreme scarcity and our belief that these gems are undervalued in today's market are two strong reasons to make this exceptional gemstone the newest addition to your collection!
