Rita Verreos - AJP

Rita Verreos is passionate about sharing her lifelong love of accessorizing which is why she’s overjoyed and honored to be the first bilingual TV Show Host sharing JTV jewelry love in both English and presenting JTV’s first ever shows in Spanish! Rita describes herself as a child of God who feels blessed to be a mother of two wonderful children, devoted wife, daughter, sister and rescue doggie mommy of two. A people person at heart, Rita exudes a joy and a love of people wherever she goes! Her two kids and husband joke that they can’t take her anywhere because she talks and makes friends with everyone! Rita is a natural born communicator 100% fluent in Spanish, English, French and Italian. She attended UC Berkeley on full-ride academic scholarship & went on to graduate from UCLA Cum Laude with B.A. in French and Italian Languages & Literatures. Rita attributes her love of languages to coming from an international background. She hails from Venezuela, her mother is from Panamá, her father Greek-American.

On a professional level, Rita is a former Miss Venezuela contestant with extensive experience as a bilingual television Host, News Anchor for TELEMUNDO New Mexico, UNIVISION and CBS Texas, Beauty/Style tips Guest Host on HSN, Mundo Fox & MSN.com as well as an "Entertainment News" Correspondent for America Te Ve, Miami and Lifestyle Host of Latin Connection TV.

In 2007, she was spotted for a Mark Burnett Productions Agent who offered her to become a “Castaway” on the CBS Reality Show, SURVIVOR Fiji. Her mother raised her with the motto “If others can do it, so can I!” Thus, she took the leap of faith and became one of the 1st Latinas on the world renowned program.

In her free time, you will find Rita as a #baller mom, working out with her hubby and volunteering. Rita has been an Emcee to help bring awareness and raise funds for Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer, JDRF, March of Dimes, Animal Friends & Special Needs organizations to name just a few. Her lifelong dedication towards helping others earned her the prestigious “Call to Service” Award given by the President of the United States for Lifetime Achievement in Volunteerism in 2011. 

Adamant about developing self esteem in girls/women of all ages, Rita uses the training she received as a  Miss Venezuela contestant, to coach/motivate girls and help them achieve their life goals. Rita has coached two Miss USA winners! What Beauty Queen doesn’t love sparkle? She feels so grateful and blessed to now be able to combine her love of accessorizing using her various languages to bring JTV’s millions of viewers worldwide the affordable luxuries they can only find here at JTV!
