Featuring: Artisan Collection of Bali by JTV
The Artisan Collection of Bali
Bali consists of a group of islands near Indonesia. The province is known for their elaborate traditional ceremonies, festivals and arts, and the significance that they place on these things is evident in Balinese jewelry.
The Artisan Collection of Bali showcases the importance of tradition and intricate detail to Balinese culture. You’ll find a lot of silver in this collection, as Bali is known for silver jewelry. Some pieces have been hammered to give them a mottled texture, while others are patterned with highly detailed filigree or a bubble-like motif. The accompanying gemstones are usually subtly colored, so as not to distract from the amazing metalwork.

The Artisan Collection of Brazil
Brazil, the largest South American country, is extremely diverse in every way. This theme carries over from its population to its landscape and cultural influences, creating an aesthetic that is simultaneously rustic and modern.
This aesthetic, as well as the natural wonders of the country’s numerous mineral deposits, is showcased beautifully in the Artisan Collection of Brazil. Many pieces of this jewelry are one-of-a-kind, made from rough cuts of the gems commonly found in Brazil, like quartz, citrine, amethyst and agate. These gems are also accented and paired with gold, which is popular in Brazilian jewelry.

The Artisan Collection of India
India is another country that perfectly executes the fusion of historical tradition and modernity, all with colorful personality. Indian culture also seamlessly combines earthly and heavenly motifs and themes, extending to the jewelry of this Artisan Collection.
JTV’s collection of Indian-inspired jewelry offers a rich landscape of items to choose from in bold silver and gold silhouettes. Intricate floral patterns and charming animal designs reflect the country’s biodiversity and come to life in opal, turquoise, moonstone, rose quartz, drusy quartz and more.

The Artisan Collection of Ireland
Ireland is a country of lush, green plains and low mountains. Its history is closely intertwined with religion (particularly Catholicism), as well as the Viking civilization. Common imagery throughout Irish jewelry and art includes clovers, knots, crosses, the Tree of Life and the claddagh (the crowned heart held up by a pair of hands), all of which carry religious or historical significance.
The Artisan Collection of Ireland features all of these symbols and more, such as antique Irish coins, rosaries and celestial sun and moon designs. Many of the pieces are carved from verdant, mossy-green marble and set in cool, misty silver.

The Artisan Collection of Israel
The country of Israel is a juxtaposition of desert territories and green plains. The Jewish faith is also, of course, essential to Israeli culture, as is the documentation of history and tradition. All of these influences carry over into their jewelry.
As a result, The Artisan Collection of Israel features a number of organically shaped and textured silver pieces. Silver has been utilized in Israel since the Bronze Age. You’ll also frequently see the Star of David symbol and the cross in shades of blue and silver.

The Artisan Collection of Morocco
The North African country of Morocco has a diverse and vibrant culture, which is reflected in the stylings of the country’s art and jewelry. The designs are inspired by both modern and traditional architecture, mosaics and the predominant religion of Islam.
This Moroccan-inspired jewelry collection includes a gorgeous selection of brightly-colored gems and enamel. These materials are then complemented by intricate silver and gold metalwork and are often organized into geometric, mosaic-like patterns. These patterns recall the tilework and stained glass that Morocco is famous for.

The Artisan Collection of Turkey
Turkey has a civilization and culture that traces back to ancient times, though they have also Westernized in recent years. This has led to a beautiful, eclectic visual style in Turkish arts and architecture.
The Artisan Collection of Turkey embodies this style with the clean lines of detailed gold scrollwork and filigree, as well as religiously meaningful symbols like the Evil Eye and the hamsa (a hand symbol representing the five pillars of Islam and thought to be protection from the Evil Eye).

Now that our trip is over, you’ll have to pick out some souvenirs to remember it. Whether you want one from each country or several from your personal favorite, there are lots of options for adding cosmopolitan flair to your wardrobe.
Erin McIntyre
Her name gives it away, but out of all of these lovely countries, Erin is most looking forward to someday visiting Ireland.
