LOOKS NOTHING LIKE PHOTO--NOT WORTH MY TIME OR MONEY EVEN AT AUCTION! December 16, 2014
I'll just say my bit..........since the previous reviewer so thoroughly described the product. Well done! I think the "3 little depressions" on the back were put there to enhance the cut. I did find them interesting. My biggest problem will be figuring out how to set this stone. Perhaps a REALLY good wire wrapper will be able to do it. Also to be said, is how the cutter had to really look for a good piece of rough. If the tourmaline crystal comes through the surface of the stone, it is marred. Mine had no extrusions and was gorgeous. I think the cutter did an outstanding job. Perhaps I will dump the wire wrapper and just put this in my unusual cuts collection. February 14, 2015

ReviewI will begin with the outer quartz material. The outer quartz material is eye clean and fluid like in appearance.
Next, the cutting and facetings are excellent. This is a unique and one of kind cut.
The best part of this particular quartz are the inclusions. There are some negative quartz inclusions which aren't really negative because they are natural. There are many tourmalines present within the outer quartz material. These tourmalines appear black to the naked eye, however when they are viewed under a microscope, they turn out to be a dark blue to dark green color. When you view these tourmalines under a microscope, you can see the complexity that went into their growth.
Definitively a cool quartz to add to your gemstone collection. October 20, 2014

Purchased as a gift: No, it is not a gift.
UnusualI did not notice the three depressions on the back side of the gem when ordering, had they been clearer, I don't think I would of purchased. As I got them on the auction site for a good price, I'm keeping it. March 18, 2013
