Product Information
Campbell Bridges Collection Tanzanian Tsavorite 5.44ct 10.85x7.75x5.97mm rectangular octagonal. This stone was mined in Komolo (Lemshuko), Tanzania and cut in Kenya. This stone is number 138 in the collection and has been laser inscribed.

Have you ever wished to touch history? In this gemstone, you can. This tsavorite garnet is from the personal collection of Campbell Bridges –  the man who was the first to discover this verdant green member of the garnet family.

His first contact with tsavorite happened in 1961. Chased by a truly frightening wild buffalo, he sought refuge in a gully and waited. When he was finally able to crawl out, he saw some small, bright green and shining pebbles. For the next several years, he continued his quest. Finally, in 1967, he found a significant amount of fine tsavorite, and the rest is history.

Campbell Bridges, along with Henry B. Platt, then President of Tiffany and Co., named this stone! Mr. Platt said, “Tsavorite is everything that a fine gemstone should be, and then some.”

Tsavorite is an exquisite green gemstone, colored by vanadium and chromium. This tsavorite? A piece of gemological history.
