Hayne is a highly sought-after gem due to its rarity and incredible, electrifying color. Its mesmerizing blue hues are unforgettable and as rich as those seen in the most prized sapphires and Paraba tourmalines. Hayne is an extremely rare mineral and even rarer gemstone. Also called haynite, it was named in honor of 18th century French scientist and crystallography pioneer Ren-Just Hay, who many consider one of the fathers of modern gemology. Its first mention was in 1807 when crystals were discovered among volcanic lavas in Italy. It is known for its electric blue color, but can also be found in white, gray, yellow, green and pink colors.
