Where can I find the kiln for Art Clay?

I'd like to buy it while shipping is comparatively cheap. I've found the listing for a couple of fiber boards for inside the kiln, but I can't find the kiln they should go into. That doesn't make sense! Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think I can fire the clay in a regular oven or toaster oven. I'm really looking forward to starting to work with the art clay, but not if I can't fire it into permanent form. Help, please!! Thank you!

Answer:
Hi. The settings have been moved to the gemstone area in effort to put these products with the loose gemstones for which they are made. You will find castings and semimounts under the Gemstones tabs. Here's a link: http://www.jtv.com/Gemstone-Setting...

Just copy and paste that link into your browser and it will take you straight to our castings and semimounts.

What Happened to Jewel School on Sundays..

I can't believe you changed Jewel Schools schedule and took it off of Sunday's line up.. Being a dedicated customer I am very disappointed that I can no longer be able to watch the show because it is now schedule during weekday hours.. It is a shame that I will probably not be able to enjoy purchasing through your site like I have in the past. I can understand the hosts changing and have adapted, but your decision to move Jewel School to weekdays only was a BIG mistake. Lets get it together folks. I'm sure I'm not the only customer that is extremely disappointed!!

Answer:
I could be mistaken, but I was under the impression that yesterday was the only Sunday without JS because of the Special diamond day which included all time slots for the day.
It should be back next Sunday as far as I understand it. My problem is that instead of 3 hrs on Sunday and Thursdays, they now have the 6 hrs divided into 3 days.
Most people have to work during the week and can only watch on Sundays and now we only get 2 hrs. It would be nice to at least have 3 hrs on Sundays, but who knows what may happen in the future since things seem to change so often

Hi, if you are a beader Margot Potter Book Set Of 3 (BOOK59) is a fantastic set that will take you step by step through many projects. If you want to wire wrap Wirework: An Illustrated Guide To The Art Of Wire Wrapping (Paperback) By Dale "cougar" Armstrong (BOOK53) is great. All of the Jewel School DVDs are very helpful. If you simply type BOOK into the JTV search you will find many great teaching aids. Good Luck.

Answer:
This will probably seem like a wimpy answer, but it depends. "Jewelry making" covers so many techniques and methods that I have not seen a book that covers it all in any detail. I have a shelf full of books. I started with the general books but I found that the best would cover only about 60% of the techniques in any detail and each book covered a different 60%. As I discovered what I like to do in jewelry making I started buying books on specific techniques. I have looked at videos but bought few because they seem to have the same issue of being best when you can specify what you want. Probably more so because they are more limited in capacity than books and can only cover so much.

So I could give a better answer if I knew what type of jewelry making you are interested in - bead stringing, bead weaving, wirework, stone-setting, etc.?

Hi. I just purchased my first ring to put together myself. How do I secure the stone into the semi mount and do I need any special tools?

Answer:
Hi, If you purchased an Gemtite setting all you have to do is set the stone on the table, table side (flat) down and press the prongs onto the stone. It couldn't be easier.

If you purchased a setting that requires bending the prongs yourself, you can use pliers. However you must be careful especially if it is your first time.

If you don't have the confidence you can take your stone and setting to a reputable jeweler and they will do it for you for a charge. Usually $20-$50 depending on the difficulty.

Good luck.

Answer:
Well, you will need a jewel school tool kit, the big one. with the prong benders. It comes with pictures that explain the tools. The stone fits inside the prongs and the prongs are shaped to fit the stone . Semi-mount settings I usually take to the jewelry store to have set because I don't trust myself to work with semi-mounts. The Gemtite settings are the do-it-yourself settings. There are videos on the website that can show you how to do that. That's fairly easy. I've done that myself. Semi-mounts are a little more complicated from my point-of-view anyway.
