Gigi Marco - MA, GG, AJP, LLB
Gigi Marco brings a unique set of skills and experiences to her role as Show Host at JTV. After attending Stanford University, where she pursued a degree in Art History, she enrolled in a master’s program in Art Business at Sotheby's Institute of Art in London, England. While there, she received unsurpassed instruction in the buying, handling, displaying, and selling of fine jewelry, art, and other luxury goods. Though her family has been in the jewelry industry for four generations, her great knowledge and passion for jewelry was ignited while obtaining her Graduate Gemology (GG) degree in 2005.
At the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), she expanded her knowledge and experience of precious stones through visits to opal mines, diamond mines, pearl farms, and sapphire-cutting centers in Australia. This experience provided an invaluable opportunity to make global connections and experience the jewelry pipeline from rough stone to jewelry store window.
Gigi also opened her own jewelry store in her hometown of San Diego, California, where she specialized in high-end bridal jewelry. She is a member of the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers, the Women’s Jewelry Association, the National Association of Professional Women, and the Jewelers of America. In her spare time, Gigi enjoys traveling, mining, reading, cooking, playing the harp, singing, and spending time with her husband, Charlie, and their two dogs, Luna, Ruby and Bella Luce.
My Favorite Gemstones
"My favorite gemstones are the phenomenal gems, or the ones that display special effects when light hits them, such as opals, pearls, star ruby, sapphire and labradorite feldspar."
More About Gigi Marco
“I believe in always looking my best, so I love matching ensembles! There is no faster way to look polished and put together than throwing on a coordinated pair of earrings, necklace, bracelet, watch and ring. It’s the easiest way I know to look like I made a huge effort in under a minute flat, even if I'm only heading out to the grocery store.”
Gigi has traveled to over 55 countries. Her travels have led her to some really crazy and exciting experiences, including working on a pearl farm in Australia and rappelling down the shaft of a gold mine in Northern California.
