Fatima grew up in Minnesota. The eldest of three children, she escaped the frigid, cold winters by going to school in sunny St. Petersburg, Florida, where she studied biology.
Minnesota called her home and she came to love the beautiful, icy landscapes there. Fatima loves the outdoors; winter sports like Nordic skiing and downhill skiing are now favorites.
Soon after she returned to Minnesota, she signed with a talent agency which led to her dream job as a television host at a home shopping network. The thrill of connecting with customers on live television is an exciting experience that cannot be replaced in any other media profession. Fatima worked with innovators, creatives, and industry leaders who inspired her greatly.
In particular, she learned the many facets in the world of jewelry – design, gem sourcing, production, and presentation. She loves to share that knowledge with customers and jewelry aficionados.
Fatima is excited to be a part of the JTV family and share the mission to “open up the world of jewelry and gemstones to everyone."

1. What’s your favorite gemstone?
My favorite gemstone is the luscious, green emerald. It’s also my birthstone. I love the story about Cleopatra giving emeralds with her likeness carved into them as gifts to dignitaries visiting Egypt.
2. What’s your favorite piece of jewelry?
My favorite piece of jewelry is my wedding ring – which my husband helped design. Funny story, he left the CAD image on his computer and I saw it by mistake beforehand; regardless, it was still a wonderful surprise!
3. What are three jewelry items you take when you travel?
I travel with my wedding ring, gold hoops, and a watch.
4. What do you like to do in your free time?
My favorite thing to do is to be outside and active with my family. We love to mountain bike in the summer and ski in the winter. Nature is intoxicating! I love to be outdoors and I can’t possibly get enough sunshine.
5. What is your “Can’t leave home without it” item?
I don’t leave home without my phone – so I know where I’m going! Google Maps is my best friend!
6. What’s a fun fact about you or a secret talent people may not know you possess?
My passion is salsa dancing and I was an instructor at a dance studio for several years. Just listening to salsa music makes my heart happy.
