Product Information

Masasi blue garnet color change 4.85ct 9.87x8.36x6.02mm oval. The stone is dark Blue Green in daylight and dark red Purple in incandescent light. The gemstone was mined in Tanzania and cut in India. The gemstone comes with a Stone Group Labs Gemstone Identification Report. The stone has been appraised by Craig Lynch G.G. for $10,475.00.

At 4.85 carats, this oval Masasi Blue Garnetâ„¢ is an important collectible gemstone. Until a few short years ago, the world had never seen any blue garnets; the gemstone reference books said they did not exist! Then magic happened when this new alluvial source was discovered in southern Tanzania. We were asked to participate in the acquisition of some of this rough. After a short discussion, we decided to invest heavily and buy as much as we could! And effectively, we cornered a good portion of this market for a time, while the rough was being found. Like natural alexandrite, this garnet has a very similar color change and is untreated. But our experts believe it is even rarer; therefore very desirable for any collection. Now, the particular deposit this stone was mined from is no longer producing and market supplies of these phenomenal gems are extremely limited. The supply is sporadic to virtually none. This bodes well for the smart collector now and in the future.
