9.05ct Oval Ant Hill Garnet 14x10mm from Navajo reservation, Arizona. Cut in USA

This Ant Hill (Pyrope) garnet from the Navajo reservation in Arizona has an international reputation and stellar provenance. At 9.05 carats, it is reportedly the second largest faceted Ant Hill garnet gem to have been found and cut from this particular source. Prior to its ownership by JTV, this gem was in the inventory of the Somewhere in the Rainbow Gem Collection and was featured in multiple museum exhibits across the United States. From the rough, it was faceted in an oval shape to retain its carat weight but without sacrificing its beauty in any way. Completely natural, untreated in any way, and meticulously cut and hand-selected first by the Somewhere in the Rainbow Gem Collection, it was then acquired by JTV after a personal examination of the gem by JTV’s CEO and President, Tim Matthews. This Ant Hill garnet would be a magnificent, unique addition to any serious gem collection.
