Product Description

Wah Wah Mountains Minimum .15ct Mm Varies Square. Mined In Utah And Cut In The United States.

Bixbite, also known as red emerald or red beryl, is not only the rarest variety in the beryl family, but also one of the rarest gems on the planet. When you think of beryl, there are many varieties, including emerald, aquamarine, morganite, goshenite, heliodor, green beryl, golden beryl and bixbite. While many of these beryl varieties are well known, the same cannot be said about bixbite. One of the most collectible and highly desirable of all gemstones, bixbite was first discovered in the Thomas Range of Utah in 1904. A subsequent discovery in Utah's Wah Wah Mountains in 1958 uncovered the first (and to date, only) source of gem-quality crystals. If you are a searching for a true American beauty, look no further than bixbite, the American red beryl from Utah.

Small But Happy To Have BixbiteSmall stone with a lighter pinkish area toward one corner. Similar to what is pictured except for the light area. I am still happy to add this to my collection. August 16, 2013

very deep red but very smallit's a shame that most of the "affordable" stones of bixbite are so small. a clean clear 1/2 carat stone would put most red gems to shame! but it's nice for collectors. my opinion is, if you can afford it, get the largest you can find. August 16, 2013

Another beautiful Bixbite!I've given reviews on most of the Bixbite gemstones. I have a lot of experience with this material, and have purchased this shape on 4 or 5 occasions. Usually, the square shape is as it says: very square. The pink color varies throughout the stone (typical Bixbite). These square cuts are shallow as well, which does not take away from the beauty at all. The shape will vary widely from stone to stone, so matching can be exceptionally difficult. The current price of this exact gemstone is competitive, so buy-up, but, most of all, enjoy! December 18, 2013

Very much as picturedTiny bit of bixbite with somewhat uneven coloring and plenty of inclusions, but still very pretty with enough color and sparkle to make a special accent stone or gem example in a collection. You should get one while they're available. December 18, 2013
