Designs DisappointingI really wanted to love this video, but I was quite disappointed in the actual designs presented. In my opinion, they did not look professionally made. The earrings are not anything that I would want to make or wear. That being said, the instructional components were excellent, and I appreciated learning Margot's varied techniques. I am always open to learning something new, and the information on this video was no exception. I just wish the designs were better looking. One last comment: I felt this DVD was over-priced. Twenty-seven dollars plus $4 shipping is too high in my opinion. Thanks. My recommendation: If you want to learn new techniques or to reinforce the ones you know, purchase this DVD because it is quite strong in that arena. If you want new and interesting designs that you would want to wear to work or to an evening outing, perhaps a different instructional DVD would be more helpful. December 03, 2012

A nice addition to your reference libraryThis is a quality instructional DVD. The audio is clear and the camera framing of the steps is very good. Margot Potter is very comfortable in front of the camera. Her style is friendly and conversational, describing what she is doing as she works. I consider myself an advanced beginner so I am already familiar with the terms and basic techniques she uses. But she also explains as she goes so, though it's easy to forget what it's like when you first get started, I think few if any beginners will find this video intimidating. I ordered this video because I believe you can always learn something new, even about the basics, especially from someone with a lot more experience. Although I did not expect to want to faithfully replicate every design demonstrated, I hoped to be inspired to create my own designs, and I was not disappointed. On the Jewel School video page there is a video about this DVD that shows every project included. I recommend watching this promo so you won't be surprised or disappointed. It will also give you an idea of the components used. The DVD includes a pamphlet with detailed lists of the materials used in the projects plus a summary of the steps. The project kit sold separately gives you many of the wires and findings but you will need to supply beads, basic tools, and a couple other items. Or do as I will and substitute with similar items from your stash. December 02, 2013

Great DVD how about a kit with!!!!!Being a beginner having a kit with the crystals and beads in it would be great...or at least the item #s and availability of product. I did get the wire/findings kit (great). I know Margo wants us to go with individual taste--but starting out--step by step including availability and access to product is to me very inportant. An Absolute MustI was very impressed with the clarity of instruction and I liked the fact Icould go back and clarify points I had missed. I love Margo Potter as co-host of Jewel School and she is very innovative with her designs. I am so happy with my DVD and I can always change a design to suit my tastes. Kudos!! July 25, 2011

Useful and interestingI really like Margot Potter's approach to jewelry making, so I bought this dvd thinking I'd give it a shot even though I thought I probably knew most of what she was going to teach. WRONG. 5 minutes into it I was so glad I bought it because there are details and extra information she gives that, at least for me, filled in the blanks of how and why things are done when you're making jewelry. Even though I've been making jewelry on and off or a while, watching the way her hands moved as she strung beads and manipulated wire was useful and her techniques are smarter than mine! LOL!! This was definitely worth my while and I'll purchase any future dvd's she makes. Elbows up, address your jump ring, now twist. July 25, 2011

Margot is great! The instruction on this DVD is wonderful. Margot is a great teacher. The pictures are clear and easy to see. As far as the styles of earrings demonstrated...they are not my favorites. I understand that they show a variety of techniques, which is the object of the dvd. I am looking forward to the entire series. I have the first series, and they are fabulous. Great job Margot!!
