Purchased as a gift: No, it is not a gift.
Interesting gemThe color is similar to Peridot, but very different at the same time. Another great piece for a collector. A deep olive green without the yellow would be the best way to describe the color. Thank you for putting something like this on the JTV Auctions page, I am not sure I would have bought it otherwise. That being said, I am glad I did. January 28, 2015
What the previous reviewer said is exactly correctI also like the stone, and I have done some reading to find something interesting about it. Just not finding it yet. The family name is Idocrase (if I have that exactly right). So here is the problem: There is no way to "romance" this stone for a buyer, and it pretty much passes for peridot. I guess I have a personal problem of wanting to put it into jewelry. I think I hear the 3:15 train, nonstop to my collection. January 02, 2015

A Rare GemThis is so seldom seen as a faceted stone that even though I have been collecting for, well, a few years, JTV is the first place I have found this gem offered as a faceted stone for a reasonable price. The color falls between olive and avacado and appears quite saturated for such a small stone. At these prices this is a must for any collector of truly exotic gemstones. July 04, 2013
