Customer Reviews

Review This Product
Unimpressed.Gosh, I wish mine looked even a little bit like the picture! Instead, I received what looks like a lemon throat lozenge with a TINY ant (?) stuck on the edge. If I hadn't gotten this at an auction price, I'd return...regardless of the novelty story behind its existence. August 11, 2014

interestingUnder magnification ...mine has at least 3 whole bugs....and a few legs and other stuff. It's pretty cool. I'm thinking some of the other reviews were because they didn't have the right tools to look at it. I have another copal that doesn't really have much inside. I am pleased with this one... I have already found a setting for a pendant .... :) June 13, 2014

Will Return ItemAlthough this is a nice size stone, mine only had some tiny debis inclusions and no insects. There was also a large chip on the top. Will be returning this item. Based on reviews by others and my own experience, I will not purchase another. April 28, 2014

Wishful thinkingI had doped that this stone do to its size, would have had a little more insect inclusions. My granddaughter, who I bought it for was not as taken by it as I had hoped she would be. The price was right only paying the lowest price possible for it on a bid. March 10, 2014

Really cool!I was so happy when my stone was inspected and I found insect and plant material! The Copal itself was clear with a few orange specks which makes the organics trapped inside that much easier to see. The stone did have a small chip on the side, but it will easily be covered by the pendant casting I found, and since I won the Copal on auction I plan on bidding on more! November 19, 2013

ReviewBeautiful piece of Copel. I have a green Copel necklace and love it as well. This big Cabochon will become a ring. September 18, 2013

DissappointedThis stone came to me as clear as day, there were no inclusions for it. This was one of my favorites that I was looking forward too. Also, the edge was chipped. Sent back right away. August 07, 2013

Jurassic GemOut of the nine visible insects I have identified three species. As I use a higher degree of magnification what at first appear to be debris specks turn out to be tiny prehistoric mites! My specimen is a small window to a past world. Properly set in a bezel this would make a real conversation starter pendant. Mounted as a specimen it would be a nice addition to an office or den. My copal was a tad bit underweight at 12 carats. But due to the light specific gravity of this substance it is not missed. The calibrated size is right in spot so castings should be easy to obtain.
