Now I understand what they mean when people talk about "the glow within" these anthill garnets. My favorite color is red, and I've always appreciated garnets, but these are a league of their own! Simply incredible!

Pictures don't do justice
Ok red is my favorite color to wear and I am in love with "anthills"! The pictures do not come any where near showing what a pretty shade of red this is. I had a ring guard with two trillion peridots around my marquis diamond solitare. The solitare is beat up, not the best quality diamond and it has 20 years of wear and the peridots were beat up too so I replaced them with anthills and those little red stones gave it a face lift. They are so pretty set in yellow gold. I also had a 3 stone ring made in white gold with my scrap gold and I used oval anthills in it and I love it too. The red looks great with white or yellow metal. I would call the shade of it scarlet. When you hold them a certain way they are dark #almost black# and then the light hits them and they seem to have an inner glow. If you read some of the history on "anthills" and garnets in general it's pretty cool. I am certainly a fan. You do have to be somewhat careful with garnets and they do have internal characteristics #not bad# but I still think they are worth it and are very sparkly little stones.
