Loads of Color!I'm not an opal fan usually but decided to try out the Ethiopian opal that everyone on the gem & jewelry shows rave about constantly. I wanted to wait for a round faceted stone but they are more rare, very few in stock and sell out fast. This was such a pleasant surprise in cut, clarity (although a little milky, still not like I received in the 70's in a ring for graduation) and color! The play of color is so striking in this one! I received an Ethiopian 8x6 cabochon opal as a gift from a friend recently that was nice as well from JTV. That one was a little clearer but the body color was darker yellow. I prefer faceted gemstones over cabochons but one will possibly be put in jewelry. The photo is lighter than the one I received. I probably received the stone returned by a previous customer because they sent it back due to being milky. At any rate, I'll probably keep it for my collection. February 23, 2015
Ooooo la laMy eyes are popping out of my head right now. This is by far the most beautiful opal I have seen to date. It rivals the most expensive one I have that is over 150.00. I also got it at auction, and I won't even tell you what I paid because it will just make y'all green with envy. I would have paid full price for this one easily though but I am super stoked for what I paid. Wish I could do that again but I am sure it won't ever!! But that's ok! The color is spectacular! It has the pin fire and harlequin which makes it look like fireworks going off everywhere. I can't wait to set it and this one deserves 14 kit gold for sure. You will fall in love with this one! Good value for an interesting stoneI ordered four of these, hoping that there would be a matching pair among them. Fortunately, two of the stones were a good match, so I kept them and sent the other two back. All of the stones were yellow with flashes of red and green. None of them were the blue shown in the picture. I love blue, but these were still beautiful. They are clear with great play of color. My husband says they almost don't look real.
The two that I returned were cloudy and mismatched. January 22, 2014
Mesmerizing! This stone is really mesmerizing. You could stare at it all day. I love the blues and the greens. Quite an amazing stone! January 22, 2014

Purchased as a gift: No, it is not a gift.
Breath takingI talked with Cheryl Ells last week live on JTV while I held this
breath taking opal in my hand.
I told her that it looked like the Aurora Borealis caught by earth.
I usually am not a fan of opal but these opals are stunning.
I could not possibly say enough about how beautiful these
opals actually are when seen in person.
I have 6 now and will be purchasing more. January 22, 2014
