Training Specialist

Position Summary:

The Training Specialist will plan, develop and design training curricula, materials and programs to meet specific training needs in alignment with business and career path needs. The successful candidate will analyze learning needs and partner with subject matter experts.

Responsibilities:

• Design, procure, plan, develop and maintain training and development materials in a variety of formats
• Conduct needs analyses, design and implement performance solutions to support business objectives
• Must be able to utilize and train PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Prezi and social media formats to include: Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter
• Proficient in learning an application, writing a training procedural manual and effectively training the application to others
• Understand and effectively apply adult learning methodology and varied teaching strategies to meet the needs of diverse learner groups
• Create strong partnerships and credibility to deliver training to large audiences
• Continuously keeps abreast of current training and development research; learning theory, motivation theory, methods, and techniques to keep training materials fresh and engaging
• Create and manage an educational database for Jewelry Television to track completed class offerings. Proctor exams for specific certifications
• Ability to train policy and procedures, present new hire orientation and conduct complex technical training

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree (BA, BS)
• Minimum of 2 years of instructional design experience preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of training experience in professional environment preferred
• Web based curriculum/course development experience preferred
• Proficient with Microsoft
• Excellent Project Management Skills
• Strong writing skills – designs and develops training materials for client facing products and services; will also use needs analysis, project management, course development, and evaluation skills to write curriculums for beginner and advanced courses. Must write in a consistent voice and tone
• Presentation/Facilitation skills – superior presentation and training delivery skills; communicates a sense of enthusiasm for the subject matter and a spirit of commitment to the pursuit of learning; able to motivate learners by means of their own demonstrable enthusiasm and commitment to the acquisition of new knowledge, skills, and abilities
• Service Orientation - knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for service and evaluation of customer service
• Leadership/People Development – ability to both exhibit and transfer knowledge to others on how to effectively train, coach, mentor and support employees in current positions both real time (daily) and in periodic performance reviews
• Team Building/Interpersonal Relationships - Has the ability to influence and work effectively across all parts of the organization developing positive and trusting relationships and supporting the leadership efforts of others. Requires strong communication skills
