Thank you, jewdesigner, for a great review!I will copy the information you left and keep it with the stone in my collection. Now, a humorous story for you. My dyslexia must have kicked in because I read it as "corundum quartz". And after reading about the inclusions in this stone, I said "Wait, where is the corundum in all this stuff?" Then my eyesight improved and I discovered "conundrum". And then I spend a couple of days in a conundrum about sharing this story with the JTV world. By the way, I won 2 at auction. One was great and as described, the other was more purple, no rutile, and really not so pleasant to look upon. Should I send one back?? Quite a corundum. Or is it conundrum?? I am confused now. The best quartz yet! This is an amazing quartz gemstone with lots of different inclusions.
The purple areas of this stone are Amethyst, while the brown areas are smoky quartz.
The yellow strands are rutilations. These rutilations are a rich yellow color.
The red inclusions are lepidocrocite, the black particles are Goethite and the brown littles balls are cacoxinite.
I highly recommend this quartz to anyone looking to build up their gemstone collection or looking for a unique stone to add to their jewelry lineup.
This quartz would also be great in a pendant such as item# CST366; along with the box link chain item# FRE064. September 21, 2014
