Set Of 3 Imperial Beryl Average 2.75ctw 11x5mm Pear Shape. Gemstone Mined In Brazil And Cut In Thailand.
Named for its colors that so closely resemble those of Imperial Topaz, Imperial Beryl is now making its debut at Jewelry Television. Hailing from a mining area in the Jequitinhonha Valley in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais, it should come as no surprise that gems of this caliber call this locale home. Minas Gerais, which translates to 'general mines', is the source for many of the world's finest quality gems, including aquamarine, rubellite, topaz, emerald and morganite. Gem dealers will tell you their eyes light up when they are offered Brazilian beryl. The Imperial Beryl mining area is reported to be the only location in the world that produces gems of this regal color. At the time of this writing, our buyers were told that the gem dealers have no more of this material available. Of course, that could change if a new deposit is found. Production of this color is less than 5% of the pink beryl (morganite) availability. Imperial Beryl is irradiated-but not heated-to produce these striking colors. Colors range from a brownish yellow similar to that of champagne diamonds--but with more yellow--to a darker orangey brown. While beryl's pink hues may well be the most popular for today's jewelry market, it is the unheated, typically peach or salmon-colored stones appeal to collectors and have their own value. Many connoisseurs will tell you that no beryl collection is complete without adding specimens that demonstrate this gem's incredible range of colors. An intriguing colored gem from a country of gemstone treasures, we encourage you to add Imperial Beryl to your collection today!
