How do you read the spectrascope?

My husband bought me two rings years ago from JTV and I think they are Pad Sapphire. The Refractometer said they are Sapphire. What do I need to do now. Should I be confident in the Refractometer?

Answer:
A Spectroscope is a tool for examining which parts of light are absorbed by a gemstone and other materials. The absorbed part will influence the color. There are two types of Spectroscopes used in gemology: diffraction and prism. There should be complete confidence when using a Spectroscope.

Dark Color

My wife is looking for the color in the picture or close to it. She does not want a lighter color as one of the reviews said. As long as it looks like a real Pad Sapphire she will be happy. Can anyone help! Thanks.

Answer:
The lab Pad I own it's very close to the real Pad,and even though I'm not a fan of lab created ,this is a stone I can't afford in natural,so this was the next best thing,I would just buy it and show it to your wife, and if she doesn't like it,they have a very good return policy,so you only going to be out the shipping. If this is a matter of personal taste, your wife it's the only one that can decide.Hope this help.
