Cleaning of Tanzanite

I want to buy a Tanzanite Bracelet. I have already ordered earrings and a necklace. I need to know the care of these precious pieces as these are my first ones. I don't want to tarnish them with impropper cleaning. Need your help. Sincerely Suzi in Oklahoma

Answer:
With tanzanite you will want to avoid ultrasonic (vibrating) cleaners and solutions, as well as high heat (such as from a jeweler's torch). Normally, a solution of mild soap (no bleaching agents) and water will do the trick for cleaning. Be sure to rinse thoroughly and dry.
