Dating to around 1700BC, Chinese Turquoise has been culturally significant through the ages. China's Hubei Province, located in the East central portion of the country, is the source for Hubei Turquoise. Thought to be one of the originating places of the Chinese people, the name Hubei translates to 'North of the lake', referring to its position north of Dongting Lake. With sky blue to spring green colors, Hubei Turquoise continues its popularity in contemporary times and in the fashion world.
