Sorry but the answer is no. This kit is for examining and sorting and polishing gemstones. They do sell gemstone setting pliers to help tighten the prongs for setting stones. JTV also sells a gemstone setting kit with everything you need. your pliers will have a channel or groove down one side while the other side is flat and smooth. I do have a few different types but this one does really good. Hope this answer was helpful my JTV friend.Gender: Male

I use the funny one that has a v shape @ the end. Also the burnisher helps in smoothing the tips of prongs without touching the stone. Ive had real good luck w/ it. You DO have to be very careful as not to damage stone. I learned it from the little booklet that they sent me AFTER I had bought it, so the kits dont always come w/ instructionsGender: Female

no it doesn't,it's just to measure stones or calibrate them,or to loupe them,but it's a very good kit,you will need to buy a pliers kit.Gender: Female

In this kit there is a gemstone holder, right by the penlight. I would like to purchase another without having to buy the whole kit
This seems to be an extraordinary little contraption. It holds stones perfectly, but I cant seem to find another. Ive asked your people, but no one seems to know what exactly its called or WHERE to find it. Can you help me out. When you open it it has these 4 little claws that hold the stone. Thanks!!!

I haven't searched the website but I do know this is called a "claw" for people to use until you become accustomed to using the gem tweezers...don't know about you but it did take a little getting used to for me with the tweezers.
