Answer:
Size limitations as far as trying to set a 6.5 x 6.5 into a 7 x 7 sized semi mount? I would order the semi mount and then take it to a local but experienced-- very good jeweler to see if the gem can be set into this semi mount due to the specific gravity of the tanzanite. This is not a super expensive semi mount. However, you need to make sure that the jeweler can do this without damaging the tanzanite as well as making sure that the tanzanite will stay secure forever in this setting. Sometimes it is possible and sometimes it is not possible depending on the kind of stone you are setting and the specific gravity of the stone. Tanzanite is a little bit softer gem stone than a sapphire, etc., so they can't force it in or push too hard on the tanzanite to get it to fit to risk damaging or scratching the tanzanite. In other words I am not sure without seeing the stone and the setting together-- and you would want to ask a jewelry professional. I would order it if I were you and then take it to an experienced jeweler who can set stones in sterling. Remember once you set the stone in the setting you would not be able to return the setting to JTV if you change your mind or if the stone does not stay securely in the setting. Thank you and good luck
