can I use this wire for wire wrapping cabachons

2. This wire has a copper based with a colored coating permanently bonded to the outside. When you cut the wire you can see the copper center. As far as I know only the copper-colored versions are the same color throughout.
3. If you use tools that are rough or work the wire too much you can mar the coating and expose the copper underneath.
I'm confused about the wire based on the answers received...
Another person answered that the wire is copper based and permanently coated...however, when cut the copper would show and if you use tools too harshly the coating could be marred, exposing the copper.
So, I would like to know which of these answers is the correct one.
