Made to LastThis is a strong rugged, made to last Mandrel and Vise. My only issue is the protective oils on the Mandrel has caused the black to wear off making it harder to see the numbers. I'll see how it is when I go to use it weather I keep it or not. :) October 19, 2012

ReviewThis is probably the best tool to make rings. It is the 3rd hand and the quality is superior. Thank you for coming up with this tool. August 05, 2012

making my job easyover the years I have struggled with a way to hold my mandrel for hammering/ forming. Although I haven't used it yet......this looks like it will do the job. The mandrek itself is shorter and steeper tapered than I am used to, but if I flip the ring, this shouldn't make a difference in the sizing of my work October 09, 2013

One out of two was good.I'm mixed on how to review this. I ordered two, by mistake, but it was a fortunate mistake. One worked just fine. Swivel ball popped loose and turned and the screw joint attached to the table just fine. The second one I couldn't loosen for love nor money. I watched the demo on tv and they said to wash the mfg. residue off and oil it and then work it around. I did all that and still no go. The top ball joint fixture was also screwed onto the the part that screws to the table crookedly. That one got returned. My other reservation is that while the ring mandrel itself is stainless steel, the cup that holds it is some sort of coated metal that may not last as well and the whole pivot may not hold up over time. I'm not giving it a lower review for something that may not happen, but be aware of that if you plan on heavy duty use. The mandrel part should handle some heavy tapping, however. I think it will be a very useful tool, but am giving it just an average rating because of my experience with the one that I couldn't get to work. Hope this helps you be prepared to get yours preped to use. December 16, 2013
